KVT GmbH in Kirchzarten has delivered a pinch valve with a nominal diameter of DN 800 for a manhole from an industrial site to the municipal wastewater network.
The pinch valve is used to reliably close the wastewater pipe at the manhole to the municipal wastewater system in the event of a fire or accident on the premises and to reliably seal it even in the event of heavy clogging.
A prerequisite for the usability of pinch valves (or any other pipework fitting) was that the installation length was adapted to the conditions in the existing wastewater shaft.
The pinch valve was therefore supplied with short pipe ends (QV-800) so that the connection to the pipes could be made using stainless steel pipe clamps.
NBR was chosen as the pinch sleeve material for the inside due to its resistance to oils and greases. The material NR was used for the outside of the pinch sleeve due to its good physical properties.
Further pinch valve projects for the municipal drinking water and wastewater sector
Pinch valve projects for the wastewater sector:
- Pinch valves DN 400 and DN 600 made of stainless steel with pipe ends for easy installation in the existing shaft
- Pinch valve with a nominal width of DN 500 as a replacement for a ball valve made of stainless steel
Pinch valve projects for the drinking water sector:
- Water works Hergershausen: Pinch valves DN 300 made of stainless steel
- Water works Lange Schneise: Pinch valves DN 350 with reduction in the pinch valve to DN 250
